HOW TO GET TRAVEL ORGANISED

ree

This post is my forte! If you know me, you know that I love organisation. When I book a trip I have everything sorted so that everything runs smoothly and to this day - this method has served me well!

Here's my organisational checklist to help your pre-travel self feel less stressed on the run up to your trip...

1. Emails

If you're like me, then you'll book most travel related stuff over the internet. This comes with a string of e-mails of booking confirmations and reservations, tickets and vouchers that are vital for your trip. One of the first things I do after making any important booking is to flag important e-mails when they land in my inbox. This may sound obvious, but it's so worth doing - otherwise you could spend ages trying to find THAT email which has your accommodation voucher attached etc.

2. Get a folder

One I've flagged my e-mails, the next thing I always do is print everything off straight away and put it in a travel folder that is specific to a destination. This could be extremely important if you are backpacking across various countries which require various documents etc. This means that everything is kept together and that I know where all vouchers etc are kept. I also keep travel insurance documents here too - you never know what can happen!

3. Buy insurance

Following on from the last point - ALWAYS by travel insurance the moment you book anything. I actually can't believe the number of people who don't by travel insurance - how stupid! This minor expenditure is nothing compared to what you might have to fork out if something does go wrong...

4. Lists

Before I even take my suitcase out the loft or buy any new clothes, I always go through my wardrobe and see what clothes I already have and make a note of what I need to buy - this way I don't spend unnecessary money on clothes etc that I already have. Next I make a list of what goes where - hand luggage vs hold luggage, with a checklist so I don't forget anything.

5. PACKING CUBES

I'm not joking you when I say that these £6 cubes will actually save your life when travelling. They are especially important when going from place to place where you're not spending much time in each destination. They allow you to organise your clothes etc into different sections so that if you're looking for one item, you don't have to re-pack your entire suitcase. I've recommended these to SO many people and they've always thanked me for it!

Those are my top 5 travel organisational tips. They should definitely make you feel less stressed so that you can have a great time before and during your trip...
