If you're planning a road trip across the USA or on the West Coast of the USA, you're more than likely to come across the state of Arizona.
Arizona is located the southwestern region of America and is the sixth largest state in the whole of the USA. Driving through this magnificent place was like no experience I have ever encountered before in my entire life - and one that I won't forget.
When you take those first steps out of your car you immediately get hit by a waft of hot dry desert air. There's really nothing like it. Then, if you take a minute to stand on the pristine white sands of the Mojave desert, you will feel like such a small part of the extraordinary scenery. Like an ant amongst a giant garden. All around you, all you can see is desert for miles. It takes your breath away just how minute you are in this sparse and mostly deserted landscape.
Arizona’s diverse climate means that temperatures in some areas can reach some of the highest and lowest in the whole of the USA in a one day period. The highest temperature ever recorded was a mighty 53 degrees... better pack that suncream then!
When most people think of the state of Arizona, they think of The Grand Canyon or the Colorado River. These wonders of nature are only a small part of this place with many other beautiful parts of Arizona not being widely popularised. Places such as Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell and Havasu Falls are some unforgettable sights that are ofter missed by travellers.
Of course Arizona has it's cities. Phoenix, the capital and largest city in Arizona, is ranked as the sixth most populous city in the United States. Other Arizona cities among the 100 most populous in the country include Tucson, Glendale and Scottsdale.
If it's the urban or wild areas that you choose to visit though, you're sure to take away some amazing memories from this state, whether you choose to just pass through or stay for a little while...
